My Story

Evan Cohen received a Bachelor’s in Environmental Economics from the University of California at Berkeley in 1994. In 2003, he started his career in education at Summit View West, a non-public school created to help students with learning disabilities in grades K through 12. Becoming interested in working with students on the Autism spectrum, as well as students with ADD/ADHD, Dyslexia, Executive Functioning Deficits, and other processing issues, Evan went back to school to get his master’s degree in special education from Grand Canyon University with a focus on mild to moderate disabilities. In 2005, he founded Accomplish Academics to serve a wide range of students who were having trouble in the classroom and needed extra help. To continue developing his skills, Lindamood Bell trained him on several learning systems, including Seeing Stars, Visualizing and Visualizing, and On Cloud Nine. While tutoring students, Evan has taught as a substitute teacher for the Norwalk LaMirada, Paramount, Downey, and Culver City school districts.
