Evan Cohen seems to have the ability to bring out the best in his students. He has worked with my daughter for quite awhile now and he is amazing! He has a sense of humor which helps put the students at ease. He instinctively knows what a student doesn’t understand and he immediately focuses in on it. He is the math best tutor I’ve ever seen and I have recommended him to my friends. I wish there were more teachers like him! Very dedicated professional! My daughter went from an 85 average to a 98!!! Thank you Evan!!

My son did a tutoring program with Evan as his tutor for the upper school ISEE. My son really liked working with Evan and it was a great fit. But more importantly, the results speak for themselves. My sons first practice test at the beginning of the program were Verbal 4-5, Reading Comp 2-3, Quantative 5-6 and Math 3-4. The results of the actual ISEE he took in Jan were Verbal 5, Reading Comp 7, Quant 8 and Math 9. We were very pleasantly surprised with how much improvement he made with Evan as his tutor.
Evan is now working with our older son helping him prepare for the SATs. He has already improved his score from his first practice test to his second one in a relatively short time.
My wife and I have worked with a lot of tutors over the years and we highly recommend Evan.

Evan began working with our daughter to prep for the ISEE High School Placement Test. He was patient and very structured in attacking the materials that needed to get covered for her test prep. They made very good progress and she improved significantly in understanding how to take the test and the materials. She ended up with very good scores on her test.
In the process of working with our daughter, we asked if he could help with our 5th grade son who struggles with reading comprehension. He began working with our son in helping him develop a better understanding of what he is reading. My son has improved since working with Evan and is enjoying reading much more than before he started working with Evan.

Evan has been an amazing tutor for Emily. He taught her tricks and gave her advice for taking both the SAT and ACT exams. He zeroed in on her strengths and weaknesses and worked with her to perform to her highest potential. He was sensitive to her insecurity going into the exams and showed her how much she really knew and how well prepared she was to perform as she wanted to perform. Evan was a FANTASTIC tutor. He very quickly yet thoroughly assessed my daughter's strengths and weaknesses to optimize her tutoring time and assignments. My son was having difficulty in his Algebra Honors class. We tried different tutors and services. At Mathnasium and spent $5,000.00 to purchase blocks of instructional time. I had to sign a contract reminiscent of contracts you sign when you purchase a new car. We did not receive results, and my son had a different teenage instructor, with a bad attitude, every other day. He detested going to tutoring. I forced him to attend because they didn’t offer refunds. We tried other random services before we found Evan. By this time, it was during the height of the Covid-19 epidemic and had to use Zoom to receive tutoring. We were skeptical of this method but had nothing to lose. Evan took time to learn my son’s personality, which resulted in my son connecting with him and achieving impressive results. We have continued using Evan and have not been disappointed.

Thank you Evan for all your help and work with my son Noah to prepare him for the ISEE and the HSPT tests. Noah really liked your tutoring style, you are very engaging, focused on improving while learning new concepts and skills. You were able to adjust very quickly to Noah's learning style and helped him improve and master new concepts as well as better time management. His scores improved by more than 3 points. As a parent, I appreciated the fact that you are always ON TIME!

Evan was extremely helpful in my college application process. He helped me set a timeline to stay organized and on top of things which made applications fairly stress free and allowed me to finish early. His knowledge on what the college admissions officers are looking for helped me shape my essays to focus on the important points colleges like. Evan helped me get into some really good schools including UCSD which I committed to unless I get into UCSB from the waitlist. Evan is a really nice, knowledgeable, and constructive person to work with and will help you get into your dream school.
